My work in politics and civil society has shown me that I can change Finnish society for the better and defend human rights through my own actions. I want to continue this work in parliament.

My Finland is a country that invests in education and the future. My Finland is a country where a woman's place is not only in the kitchen. It’s a country where outdated gender roles do not cripple us. My Finland works against racism and defends human rights beyond its own borders. My Finland gets strength from its cities.

This is how I want to envision what Finland will look like in the future.

In the next term, we will set the direction in which this country will be taken. It is clear to me that this country will not be strengthened by huge budget cuts, staring at the debt clock at night, ignoring structural problems or by cultivating racist images. Our Finland needs the courage to lead with a human touch. That's why I am running for parliament.

I am the chairperson of the Helsinki City Council and a feminist. As president of the Feminist Association Unioni , I led the preparations of the Oma Tahto 2020 citizens’ initiative for modernization of pregnancy termination. The citizens’ initiative led to changes in Finland's abortion legislation in 2022. In the city council, I have advocated for the rights of women and minorities and defended a city that also has room for fun. On my initiative, Helsinki started distributing free menstrual products for people with low-income and youth as well as started organizing low-threshold language teaching for immigrant parents. I chaired the steering group of THL's anti-racism training project, and I conduct trainings on the anti-racist approach at work.

In my free time, I serve on the board of Plan Finland and chair the Yhteiset Lapsemme children's rights organization. Deputy Mayor Anni Sinnemäki has described me as a life - and business positive person, and that's true.

I passionately defend the issues  that are most important. It's not gays or immigrants that scare me, it's reactionary politics. Climate change, education, equality and anti-racism get me fired up.

I am a 36-year-old chairperson of the Helsinki City Council and a city councilor, a deputy member of parliament, an activist, and the chairperson of Finland's oldest organization defending women's rights, Feminist Association Unioni.

I am now running for parliament, because My Finland can do better.

I am a member of the Greens. You can learn more about the party from here.
